Journée internationale contre

l'homophobie et la transphobie

Fondation Émergence Inc.’s mission is to educate, inform and raise public awareness about the realities of LGBT people.

The International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia is every May 17th.

Every year an awareness raising campaign takes on a specific subject about LGBT people.

Find tools and workshops to make senior environments more inclusives for LGBT people.

Find ideas to get involved in the fight against homophobia and transphobia in your environment :

Devoir de Mémoire

Devoir de mémoire (only in french) is a series of interviews with LGBTQ+ seniors who have marked our communities.

Over the years, we have developed awareness tools on a multitude of issues and in different formats: guides, posters, pamphlets, stickers.

All our material is FREE, enjoy!

Our material is also available in digital format on this website. Check out the pages of the issue that interest you to download the awareness raising material related to it.

Aging Gayfully

Our program aims to help older adults create environments that are more inclusive of sexual and gender diversity. In addition to awareness raising tools, Fondation Émergence offers free learning sessions.

Famille Choisie

This program (only available in French for now) is designed to reach LGBT caregivers to support them, to educate them about existing services and to help them develop knowledge that will be useful to them in their role.

Fondation Émergence Awards

This award is presented annually to a person who stood out by fighting against homophobia and transphobia during their career. Two other prizes are awarded at a ceremony: The Allied Award and the Coup de Coeur Award.

Recipients from past years include the Honorable Justin Trudeau, Minister Stéphanie Vallée and Director Xavier Dolan.

Fondation Émergence has produced an information guide on the integration of trans people into the workplace. It aims to provide employers with the tools they need to ensure a work environment free of transphobia.
