À propos de l'évènement
The purpose of this workshop is to raise awareness among health network professionals about sexual and gender diversity and the issues faced by LGBTQI+ caregivers. It will take place at the Jewish General Hospital (room: A-139) located at 3755 Chem. de la Côte-Sainte-Catherine, Montréal, QC H3T 1E2.
In Quebec, 1 in 3 people is an ''unpaid cargiver''. Needless to say, being a caregiver is something that affects nearly everyone at some point in their life. But LGBTQ+ caregivers remain largely unseen by society. They often have to deal with situations where they don’t feel comfortable being themselves, which sometimes results in a reluctance to use health and social services as well as support services for unpaid caregivers.
This workshop will adress:
- The definition of sexual and gender diversity and their components
- The experience of caregiving within LGBTQ+ communities
- Solutions to better meet the needs of LGBTQ+ caregivers
- Testimonial
- Q&A
